The process described below is applicable to all applicants
EXCEPT those applying to the
BA/MPP dual program[,
to a certificate program, or to take an individual course.
APPLICATION FORM
The University of Maryland has an
online application process.
If you choose instead to submit a
paper application,
you must send it to Enrollment Services Office Operations
Graduate Admissions, 0130 Mitchell Building, College Park, MD 20742.
The application fee is $60.00, paid to the University of Maryland.
If you did not process your fee payment online via the on-line
application, you may send it to the Enrollment Services Office using
the
Credit Card/International Check
form
Each
program has a specific four letter code. Please be sure to enter the
correct code for your desired program:

SUPPORTING
MATERIALS
All
supporting materials should be sent to Enrollment Services Office
Operations Graduate Admissions, 0130 Mitchell Building, College
Park, MD 20742.
Supporting
documents include:

Transcripts from all educational institutions you have attended
·
Original GRE scores taken with the past five years. The University
of Maryland institution code for standardized test recording is
5814. GMAT or LSAT scores may be substituted if you are applying to
either the MPP/MBA or MPP/JD dual programs. GRE scores are
optional for applicants to the EXPM and MAMG programs whose
undergraduate GPA is 3.0 or higher.

Three (3) sealed letters of recommendations. Online submission of
recommendations is storngly encouraged. On your Application
Supplemental Form (ASF), you will be able to enter the names and
e-mail addresses of your recommenders. Each recommender will then be
sent an email with instructions on how to complete an online
recommendation for you. If you need to submit a paper

Statement of Purpose should be uploaded in the Application
Supplmental Form (ASF). Otherwise, it may be mailed with supporting
documents.

Resume (required for MAMG and EXPM applicants; strongly encouraged
for all others)

Writing Sample (required of Ph.D. applicants only)
Once you have received your ASF Login ID and password, you will be
able to access your record by visiting https:// apra.umd.edu and
logging in. At this site you can determine which materials have
arrived and which are still missing from your file. Please allow a
1-2 week lag during our peak period (Dec.-Feb.) . You may also call
the applicant information line at: 301-405-0376.
If
you experience problems logging into https://apra.umd.edu, click on
'technical support'. If the problem persists, please notify
technical support at apra-support@umd.edu.
DUAL
PROGRAMS
If you are
applying to one of our dual programs, please make sure to properly
indicate the program code and submit your supporting materials to
both the Enrollment Services Office AND the other department to
which you are applying.
MPP/MBA:
If you are applying to our dual MPP/MBA program, you only need to
submit one application. You can access the application at http://www.smith.umd.edu/apply.html.
You must submit your supporting credentials to both the Robert H.
Smith School of Business and the Enrollment Services Office.
MPP/JD:
If you are applying to our dual MPP/JD program, you will need to
submit a second application to the School of Law. You may find the
School of Law online application at http://www.law.umaryland.edu/dept/admissions/apply.asp.
MPP/MS:
If you are applying for a dual MPP/MS, please apply online at
http://www.vprgs.umd.edu/gems/admissions.htm. Send your supporting
credentials to the Enrollment Services Office.

The admission's committee will begin reviewing your application
after the deadline and as soon as it becomes complete. You can
expect a response within 6-12 weeks from that time.
