Expertise

Branko Milanovic served as Lead Economist in the research department of the World Bank, working on income inequality and poverty. His books include Worlds Apart: Measuring International and Global Inequality; Income and Influence: Social Policy in Emerging Market Economies; and Income, Inequality, and Poverty During the Transition from Planned to Market Economy. He is a senior associate with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Previously, he has been a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Belgrade University.
