Military Asset Management Program

 
     
 

 
Overview
Partnering with the Private Sector for Better Military Family Housing builds understanding between the public and private sectors about the keys to success. The program provides government professionals with the basic knowledge and skills critical to representing the service branches and the Department of Defense responsibly through privatization. All program participants will learn how to utilize asset management principles to achieve good outcomes over the long term.

Program Content
The program consists of three courses delivered in a series of two, one-week residential programs, supplemented by web-based instruction. The three courses of the program are:

  • Leadership and Change Agency;
  • Housing Finance;
  • and Asset Management.

Both residential weeks contain elements of all the courses at three levels of learning: introductory, intermediate and advanced. Web-based instruction occurs before, between and after the residential education.

Class sessions include lectures from University faculty and public and private sector practitioners, team-based problem solving exercises, case studies, use of the Web for faculty and student interchange, and field trips. Web instruction includes skill building in real estate concepts and calculations, historical review, case studies and problem sets.

Dates, Location & Cost
Dates for the 2007 Military Asset Management program are to be determined. All program sessions will be held at the Maritime Institute, in Linthicum Heights, MD.
