Marita Brown

 
     
 

 
Marita B. Brown is a Senior Fellow at the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland and has over twenty five years of public sector budget and management experience at all levels of government. She has served as Budget Director for Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Director of the Office of Management and Budget for Prince George's County Maryland and as the Secretary of Budget and Fiscal Planning for the State of Maryland. In addition, she has been a Visiting Scholar at the United States Congressional Budget Office and was a Commissioner and Vice Chair of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission where she still serves on the Board of Retirement Trustees.

Ms. Brown has been a member of numerous county and state wide

 

 
  committees and task forces focusing on spending affordability, debt management, pension management, procurement, information technology, personnel reform and other topics.

She holds a BA degree from Marymount Manhattan College, an MA degree from the University of Maryland at College Park and completed the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government's Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.

At MSPA, Brown teaches State and Local Government Budgeting and Analysis of Fiscal Condition, coordinates the Maryland Fellows program and works with the Office of Executive Programs.
