Specific class sessions include lectures from University faculty and public and private sector practitioners, team-based problem solving exercises, case studies, use of the Web for faculty and student interchange, and field trips. The program makes extensive use of case studies based on current efforts in the field to illustrate the points presented in lecture. Each session helps build on one of the following four themes:
The weeks in residence at the University will be supplemented by intersession discussions using an electronic classroom accessed though the World Wide Web. The intersession will focus on the military's historical experience with housing privatization, the current Air Force RFP and discussion of a case study. In the post-session, participants will study and discuss Air Force model transaction documents. If a participant completes the two weeks in residence and intersession work, he or she will receive a University of Maryland certificate.
