Analyzing Coverage

The U.S. and British Coalition forces began a military confrontation with Iraq in March 2003. Operation Iraqi Freedom was covered by the international media from the very beginning.  Due to the "embed system," journalists from all over the war were able to cover troop movements, battles and casualities as they happened and report them back to audiences instantaneously.  Below is a small sample of the types and range of coverage of the War in Iraq:

ABC News provides a interactive photo gallery of images during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

National Public Radio displays images of war from photojournalist Andy Nelson of the Christian Science Monitor.

The British Broadcasting Corportation provides a look at the War In Iraq through video and images.

The Washington Bureau of KnightRidder looks at the men and women of the military serving in Iraq in its "Faces of War" series.

Editor & Publisher's complete coverage of Iraq and the Press.  The site includes coverage, commentaries and editorials.
